Yoga Alliance RYT 200.
Debbie began practicing yoga in 2005 at the age of 42 in the hopes of growing physically and instead found spiritual growth. Her first teacher created a warm, safe atmosphere, embracing individuals’ strengths and weaknesses in the same spirit, thus allowing each student to grow at their own pace. This environment created a love for yoga and after a break due to an injury Debbie went back to yoga in the hopes of healing.
Since 2009 Debbie has been practicing yoga in the Saraswati River yoga tradition with Gwynne Clark and at River Yoga in Peddler’s Village. Debbie completed her 200-hour teacher training certification from River Yoga and is currently pursuing membership with the Yoga Alliance. Debbie’s training at River Yoga was led by senior yoga instructor David Pittenger, senior yoga instructor Colleen Crunkleton and owner/senior instructor RaeAnn Banker. These teachers studied directly under the yogini adept of the Bhairavi Maha Yoga tradition Pavathi Nanda Nath Saraswati (Kirin Mishra). Training focused on yoga philosophy, meditation, pranayama, asana, and assists. Even now as a Debbie begins teaching she believes she will always be a student and continues to practice with Gwynne and to work closely with her teachers at River Yoga. She is certain she will also learn from her students as well!
Debbie lives in Dresher and is blessed with a loving, supportive husband and 3 wonderful teenagers. She is grateful to all her teachers, friends, and family for all the love and support she continues to receive on her journey.
Saraswati River Yoga is a classic form of yoga in a flowing vinyasa style. Debbie’s classes feature meditation, chanting and flowing asana sequences with special attention placed on alignment through careful instruction, given in a safe and comforting environment inspired by all her own teachers. This style promotes health and a sense of well-being. All levels welcome.
